Too Soon To Tell

Words & Music by Julie Gibb (SOCAN/BMI)

She walks through her life with no sense of direction

She’s got no idea if she comes or she goes

She’ll show you a smile so you think that she’s happy

She’s more than aware that she’s in this alone

She does all she can for the people around her

She’s absolute proof that life isn’t fair

She’d risk her last breath just to keep you from drowning

But as she’s going under, there’s nobody there

And she’s too scared to run and she’s too proud to hide

What she cannot discuss she conceals deep inside

Her friends think she’s crazy, which can’t be denied or dispelled

Is she heroic or tragic?  You know, it’s just too soon to tell

Go break her heart, but please don’t deceive it

She’s easy to hurt and she won’t be denied

And if her heart’s with you, her mind just can’t leave it

She can’t change the way that she is, though she tries

And she’s too scared to run and she’s too proud to hide

What she cannot discuss she conceals deep inside

Her friends think she’s crazy, which can’t be denied or dispelled

Is she heroic or tragic?  You know, it’s just too soon to tell
